The 2011 BET (Black Entertainment Television) Awards will be held this Sunday, June 24. Justin Bieber isn’t nominated, but he likely has some surprises up his sleeves. Although Justin isn’t black, Last year he was nominated for 2010 BET awards.
Recently, Justin joked, “You never know. I will never tell you, ever, even if there was fire right now.” He continued to tell MTV News, “I wouldn’t tell you. I can’t tell you [or I'd] have to kill you.”
While artists such as Beyonce, Rihanna, Usher, and Chris Brown are up for BET Awards, Justin is putting all of his support behind someone else. “I’m rooting for Drake,” he said. “Drake is my homey.”
According to The Associated Press, Beyonce, Lil Wayne, Jill Scott, Drake, Alicia Keys and Mary J. Blige are among the performers for the ceremony, airing live on BET from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. In addition to Bieber, Queen Latifah, Gladys Knight, Bruno Mars, and Nicki Minaj will also make appearances at the event.
Chris Brown leads the pack with the most nominations, as he’s up for six awards. Lil Wayne follows closely behind with five.
The BET Awards will be broadcast from inside LA’s Shrine Auditorium at 8 p.m on Sunday, June 26th.
