We are 4 American volunteers working in a poor Haitian community outside of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. After introducing our students to Justin Bieber, we found that they immediately LOVED his music,
even though they don’t speak English. These children don’t have much in their lives and we wanted to do something fun and exciting for them. So, when hearing that Justin Bieber was coming to Santo Domingo for a concert, we decided to make a video of our students singing and dancing to BABY.

Unfortunately, Justin cancelled this concert to the DR, but we decided to go ahead with the video. The kids were having so much fun with it, really trying to learn the lyrics. They were always asking us to translate what Justin was saying so they could understand. After a while, it was pretty commonplace to be walking around the community and hear a child singing Baby.

Originally we thought Justin was coming to Santo Domingo in April so we thought we could catch his eye with this video. That concert was canceled but we decided to go ahead with the filming.
